Today in class we finished our Popplet and began to start making our project in Google Slides. We only got as far as choosing the theme, putting the title (How do you make a positive digital footprint?) and our names. Once we finished our Popplet, we learnt about how to make a good presentation that catches the eye of your audience. There were many things that made so much sense I was surprised I didn't already know these things. So basically today in class we... finished our Popplet, learned about how to make a good presentation, and started to make our presentation in Google Slides. Now let me tell you about what we learned which will help to make our presentation better. The 6x6 rule was very new to me. It means that there should only be 6 bullets per slide and 6 words per each bullet. We also learned that you should use San Serif fonts in the size of 30. Also there should only 2 fonts and 3 colors for the entire presentation in order to keep it simple and easy to read. This was the major parts of what we learnt that I did not know.
The only thing I am confused about is the San Serif fonts. I know not to use Times New Roman, but what exactly is the difference between San and San Serif fonts. To me a font is a font, it can be plain and boring, fun, or hard to read. To me the font examples for San Serif seemed like a mix of plain and fun. Overall, in the future I will be able to use this information to make very easy to read and simple presentations on any slide show platform. In the future, I will be able to capture the attention of my audience because of what I learnt in class today. This I will carry with me for as long as I am in school or need to give presentations.
